How it all started...
Chris and Angela were living the American dream—a successful job, a beautiful home, and a healthy family. They attended a local church where Chris was director over several areas of ministry and Angela was the worship pastor. In 2009, the Lord spoke to them and told them that “ministry was coming and that He would open the door.”
As the years went by, Chris and Angela knew God was calling them into full-time ministry, but they did not know where. In February 2012, they listened to a message that would change their lives forever—a message about church planting. From that moment, they knew God was confirming His Word in their hearts and calling them to plant a new church. The only question now was, “Where on this large planet were they to plant a church?” After much prayer, the Lord led them to Celina, Texas. In a step of faith, they moved to Celina in the summer of 2014.
In March 2015, Movement Church started in Chris and Angela’s home. Just about every church planting model would have said to “launch large” and not to start small in a home setting. However, led by the Holy Spirit, Movement Church started as a small Bible study in the Carters’ home. As the Bible study grew, they soon ran out of space and began looking for a new location. In September 2015, the Bible study moved to a local daycare facility. God continued to show favor to this new church, and in January 2016, a permanent building became available in downtown Celina. In another step of faith, the lease was signed, and Movement Church had a permanent home.
In February 2016, Movement Church began holding Sunday morning services in its new building. The year 2017 marked another milestone for Movement Church as the church purchased the building in downtown Celina. Through God’s faithfulness, Movement Church has grown into an amazing Spirit-filled church where people are growing in the Word of God and experiencing LIFE, FREEDOM, and FULFILLMENT.

Expanding the vision...
God's plans are always BIGGER than our plans. As Movement Church has grown, so has the vision God birthed inside our Pastors. In the fall of 2023 Movement Church launched a brand new University Model school called Movement Christian Academy. Through MCA, we are teaching, training, and equipping kids to be the Kingdom Leader God has created them to be in a Spirit empowered, safe, learning environment.
Where we are headed...
Anything that is living is GROWING. Everyone at Movement Church is growing both spiritually and numerically. We are thankful for where God has brought us but we also know the best is yet to come! We are actively looking for land in Celina to build new facilities for the ministry so that we can expand all aspects of the ministry. God is accelerating things in these last days and we know it takes more to do more. Our goal isn't to just grow into a big church, but to grow and disciple people to do BIG things for God. With our new facilities, we will have the space needed to launch more ministries to teach, train, and equip people to do what God has called them to do.
